We offer over 40 top-notch CPE programs per year delivering quality education to our members in both public accounting and industry.
Our Educational Foundation programs qualify for credit toward the Vermont Board of Accountancy continuing education requirement. Credit is given only for the actual classroom hours attended by an individual.
We reserve the right to verify attendance at any time during its programs and will grant credit only for that portion of the course for which the attendee is present. For this purpose, 50 minutes of class equals one (1) hour of CPE credit.
In order to receive CPE credit, each attendee must check with the course monitor at registration. CPE Certificates will be distributed by the course monitor at the end of the program.
Unless otherwise noted, course fees include all instructional costs, course materials, luncheons and refreshment breaks.
You are eligible for the member fee if you are:
Cancellations received in the VTCPA office by telephone or mail seven (7) days prior to the course presentation date will receive a full refund. Cancellations received less than seven (7) days before a presentation will be subject to a $50 charge per course day. “No shows” or same–day cancellations will not receive a refund. Substitute registrants are allowed, but you must notify the office in advance, so the CPE certificate will reflect the change.
In the event that an insufficient number of registrants forces the cancellation of a program, we will notify each participant. The decision to cancel a program is made two to three weeks prior to the scheduled date. Full refunds will be made in the original form of payment. If you paid with a CPE Coupon, a replacement coupon will be issued with an expiration date of the following fiscal year.
Walk–ins will be accepted on a space-available basis. Course manual will be mailed to you after the course if none is available on site.
After your paid registration is received in the VTCPA office, a confirmation will be mailed to you. It provides the correct date of the program, class hours and course site. Please check it for possible changes in starting time or location. Unless otherwise noted, class times are 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.
Course materials will be distributed at the course site.
Most programs begin at 8:30 a.m. and end at 4:30 p.m. Plan to arrive 10–30 minutes early to pick up your course materials, get a refreshment and to find a seat.
There will be coffee and muffins or danish in the morning, and refreshments in the afternoon. Lunch is provided for full day seminars. All food costs are included in the course fee. Luncheons are usually served at the course site from 12:00 p.m. until 1:00 p.m. There will be a 15-20 minute break in the morning and afternoon, and times will vary with the instructor.
Smoking is not allowed in the classroom at CPE programs.
Cell phones and beepers must be set to silent mode during classroom hours and attendees must refrain from cell phone use in the classroom.
All courses qualify for CPE credit with the Vermont Board of Public Accountancy. Each course lists the hours of total credit received for attendance at that course. The monitor will distribute CPE certificates at the end of the program. In the event you arrive late or leave early, your certificate will be altered to reflect the change.
Most meeting rooms seem to have two basic temperatures: too hot or too cold. Your best bet will be to dress casually in layers or to bring a light jacket or sweater to class with you. Please be assured that the VTCPA and the course monitor will do his/her best to provide you with quality education in as pleasant as possible atmosphere. We welcome your comments, so please fill out an evaluation form following every course you attend. We do read them and take action on legitimate complaints and compliments. We want you to be as comfortable as possible, provide you with the best CPE for your dollar and get the most out of the CPE courses you attend.
