Every year 60,000 Vermonters visit a food shelf or soup kitchen. The winter months are particularly difficult for low–income families as they struggle with heating costs.
The current economic situation of may present challenges to more families in this year than the last few years. Food shelves across the state are running low on supplies and demands are increasing.
We are proud to announce that the Vermont Society of CPAs is continuing our food drive called Every Can Counts to help collect donations for local food shelves.
Most Vermonters are willing to make food donations, but the inconvenience of finding the food shelf or making an extra trip often prevents donations from getting to people in need. Now it is as simple as bringing some cans along with you when you visit your local CPA this tax season! We will take care of the rest!
Now through April 15th, you can drop off non-perishable food items at our participating firms any time you visit, or even if you are just going by. We will be making periodic drop offs to local food shelves and soup kitchens throughout tax season.
