“Every Can Counts” Food Drive CampaignAll of these documents can be customized to include your firm name, contact person or to include details on contests and prizes you may develop at the firm level for you clients. For those firms that wish to just print out a generic ready to go flyer and include it in a client mailing or print out a generic poster, the two Ready To Go documents are your best bets. The attachments that require customization only need a little work, such as replacing ABC LLC, with your own firm name. Please take a look at all the attachments and then consider how you would like to proceed. As always, contact us if you need any assistance in pulling this off at your firm. Food Banks in Vermont: Find a food bank near your office in this complete list. VSCPA Every Can Counts Logo: This JPEG image can be used by your firm to make your own posters, flyers or announcements. Ready to Go Generic Insert: This flyer or insert can be used by any firm without customization. Just print and include it in any of your upcoming client communications and it will explain that you are participating in the program, what the program is, and what they can do to help out. Ready to Go Generic Poster: This poster or insert can be used by any firm without customization. Just print and post on your collection box, front door, window etc.. It announces that you are an official drop off location for the food drive. Customizable Tax Planner Insert Offering Incentives: This can be used as a flyer, poster or client communication insert for firms offering prizes to clients who participate. It does require customization to reflect the incentives your firm is offering it's clients. Customizable Tax Plannner Insert: This poster, flyer or insert is for those firms who wish to incorporate their firm name into the document and does require some minor customization. Customizable Letter to Client: This is a sample letter to clients that could be part of a separate mailing or part of your tax planner mailing. It explains the food drive and your firms involvement and encourages participation by the client. It does need to be customized for your letterhead, firm contact person etc..
This busy season, when a client asks you if you are participating in the "Every Can Counts" campaign, what will your answer be? The VSCPA is pleased to announce the first annual VSCPA Food Drive: Every Can Counts. The Society is striving for 100% participation among accounting firm members. Government, academic and industry members are encouraged to participate as well. This is an important step in the VSCPA's efforts to promote the caring and community-oriented image of CPAs and the VSCPA, while also providing a needed service to your local community and improve the positive image of your firm. How Will the Progam Work?In the coming months, the VSCPA will actively promote the Every Can Counts Campaign statewide through VPR and other media outlets. We will inform the public that when they visit their CPA this tax and audit season, they will be able to drop off nonperishable food items, and their CPA will deliver the food to a local food shelf. Participating firms will be assigned to a local food shelf or soup kitchen and will be encouraged to notify their clients about the campaign when they send out their 2007 tax planners or begin their attest engagements. The VSCPA will provide firms with a packet of materials such as flyers, posters, inserts and sample letters to clients. At the end of the tax season, participating firms will make their final drop at their local food shelf and report their results to the VSCPA Public Relations and Outreach Task Force. Significant prizes including VSCPA Educational Foundation CPE Coupons will be awarded to the firms achieving the following three goals: the best client participation percentage, most food items per staff and most food items total. In addition, all participating firms will be included in a drawing for additional prizes. If you have any questions please contact VSCPA Public Relations & Outreach Task Force Chair Kaj Samsom at ksamsom@bishca.state.vt.us. When you are ready to sign up, please email Deb Riley at deb@vtcpa.org and indicate your firm or work-site name, the total tax season staff of your firm, and assign a primary contact who will organize the campaign at your firm or work-site. If you already have a local Food Shelf in mind please indicate that in your email. All interested firms will receive follow-up instructions and materials from the VSCPA to guide you through this exciting campaign. |
