Vermont joins other accounting organizations to advocate for STEM legislation
May 19, 2026 —Vermont has joined with the AICPA and other state CPA organizations to advocate for STEM legislation at the national level. The bipartisan, bicameral Accounting STEM Pursuit Act is of high importance to our profession, as it would appropriately recognize that modern accounting is deeply rooted in technology and data analytics. The bill would also expose more students to the diverse, technology-oriented career opportunities in the profession.
