Job Summary:
The Director of Finance will manage and direct all company finances. Responsibilities include a proven track record of conducting complex data analysis, budget forecasting, overseeing accounts and budgets and making strategic financial decisions that will promote long-term financial growth. The ideal candidate will hold a current CPA license and have had experience preferably in both small/start-up environments as well as large corporate entities. This role will report directly to the CEO.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
• Direct and monitor all financial activity of the organization
• Manage and monitor company cash balances and maintain banking relationships
• Outline and implement company-wide budget plans
• Prepare company financial statements monthly and annually, as needed
• Oversee all accounting work and set up internal and external audits to ensure the accuracy of information
• Provide direction, management, and development of the Accounting team through implementation of systems, processes, internal controls and policies
• Manage external auditor and legal relationships
• Manage all corporate documents and legal entity records
• Prepare annual operating plan, financial forecasts and monthly budget variance reporting
• Oversee audit and tax functions, and coordinate activities with outside audit firm
• Demonstrate strong Financial stewardship - direct resource allocation, monitor company expenditures, and help review and negotiate customer and vendor agreements
• Provide analysis on market and competitive landscape
• Provide strategic financial planning advice to upper management for long-term growth
• Establish internal work processes for financial department (including accounting and billing) and monitor their progress
• Analyze and interpret financial data and present the information with reports and presentations to the Executive Leadership team and Board of Directors
• Manage community relationships with 1% for the Planet, VBSR, BCorp, etc.
• Stay abreast of current market trends and patterns and act accordingly
• Have a clear understanding of and adhere to current laws and regulations

Additional Responsibilities:
• Represent the company in alignment with the brand and company values
• Attend trainings, team meetings and other company-sponsored or industry related events as scheduled (physical presence required)
• Maintain confidentiality of sensitive and proprietary customer and company information
• Complete other projects and perform other duties in support of the company goals and objectives, as requested

• Minimum of bachelor’s degree in Business Management, Finance, Accounting, or related field
• Master’s degree and/or CPA highly preferred
• 5-7 years’ experience in a senior finance position
• Possess strong leadership skills and business acumen
• Proven track record of successful budgeting and forecasting.
• Excellent communication skills, both orally and written; skilled in the art of negotiation
• Previous experience in CPG and operations will be highly valued
• Experience with ERP selection and/or implementations
• Proficiency in Microsoft Suite and other business software
• Strong interpersonal skills with the propensity to successfully foster new and maintain long-standing business relationships
• Outstanding integrity, solid moral judgment, and the ability to make important decisions under pressure
• Expert problem solver, analytical thinker, and decision-maker

Working Conditions:
• Role based in Burlington, VT
