SPAM emails going to VT CPA members
Sep 23, 2025 —Several members have received messages from Gmail accounts that say they are from VT CPA. Members are advised to ignore these messages. Here is a sample:

Sent: Thursday, September 18, 2025 9:17 AM
To: [member user name]
Subject: VERMONT SOCIETY of CPAs
Hi [Member username],
I’m following up to confirm if you are interested in acquiring the Distribution/Member List.
- VERMONT SOCIETY of CPAs 2025
- Brattleboro, VT, USA, 2025
This list includes 1,000+ valuable contacts that can enhance your outreach and networking efforts.
Please let me know if you would like to proceed, and I’ll share the pricing and further details.

The internet provider for VT CPA has been notified and consulted. Unfortunately, we cannot prevent this from happening as it is coming from random and different Gmail accounts--likely ones that have been compromised.
Please note that VT CPA will only send emails from accounts that start with "membersupport" or "Sadie" @vtcpa.org and we use Constant Contact for other emails. Please contact us if you have any further questions.
