VT CPA proudly convened its 2025 Annual Meeting on May 29 in a celebratory gathering of professionals, students, and state leaders. The event marked an important moment of transition and recognition for the Society and the wider accounting community in Vermont.
One of the central highlights of the meeting was the election of the 2025–2026 Board of Directors. The newly elected Board members include:
“This is a strong, engaged group of professionals who bring fresh perspectives and deep commitment to the work ahead,” said outgoing Chair Matt Cleare. “It is a privilege to serve alongside such dedicated individuals.”
The meeting also served as a moment of gratitude and celebration for longtime volunteer and VT CPA leader Frank Cody, who was honored for his exceptional service and leadership. A shareholder and Director of Tax Services at Love, Cody & Company in Bennington, Frank has served for years as Vermont’s representative on the AICPA Council, amplifying the voices of local CPAs on the national stage. He has also been a consistent force for good in the profession and in his community through his involvement in Toastmasters and the Bennington Catamount Rotary Club.
“Frank embodies the values of the CPA profession—integrity, service, and a commitment to excellence,” said Sadie Fischesser, Executive Director of VT CPA. “It was an honor to recognize his contributions and present him with a gift from his hometown, Bennington Potters.”
The meeting also included updates on the Society’s advocacy efforts, student engagement initiatives, and celebrated all those who received their CPA license in Vermont in 2024.
With renewed energy, strong leadership, and engaged membership, the Vermont Society of CPAs looks forward to another year of advancing the accounting profession in Vermont.
